Groups of children from each year group met at Baines Thornton for a traditional sports afternoon and what fun we had in the sunshine! Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 had plenty of races – egg and spoon, wheelbarrow and obstacle race were the favourites. When one of the obstacles is putting on a clown outfit sometimes we all need a helping hand! Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 had a football and rounders match each.

Who were the winners? Baines of course!

Radio Lancashire were in school this morning - Friday 16th June to find out more about everything we have done in our special tercentenary year. You can hear their report at 8:20am on Saturday 17th June on Radio Lancashire 103.9FM.

We are getting ready for our Open Day on the 27th June. School looks amazing, full of displays about the history of Baines – you can find art deco style school badges from the 1920’s, Maypole dancing displays from the 1950’s and a wonderful display of Baines celebrating the Milennium.

We’ve also looked to the future – what will Baines be like in 2037? Read Macy’s blog to discover her thoughts!
